Winter Blooms

Back around Thanksgiving Aaron's dad gave us a flower pot and bulb just for the fun of it. Apparently, it was one of those flowers that grew so quickly you could monitor the growth daily! We planted that little guy exactly how the directions explained, and placed it in our living room.
Hmmmmm....we watched that sucker over and over, but nothing happened! Were we watering it too much, too little? Who knew? We thought of every reason why that thing hadn't broke through the top layer of soil. Finally, post-Christmas the thing popped! We were glad to see it grow, but what grew out wasn't too attractive. It was as if a stalk of celery had errupted from the dirt. We were tempted over and over to throw it away, but we decided to be a bit more optimistic....after all it was a gift! That little flower shattered all our expectations and burst forward with life this week! It is incredible...althought I will admit it still looks like a flower resting on a celery stalk! That aside, the bloom is great!
