Last week the news happened literally in our backyard! Late Thursday afternoon, a man was driving south bound on Kalamazoo Ave. when he had a seizure and lost control of his truck. He swerved off the road onto the easement property behind our house. His foot was pinned under the gas pedal, so he proceeded to drive across our backyard missing our barn and a tree by inches. He crashed straight into our neighbor's basement. Aaron was on his way home from work when the call came through on his monitor. When he got home all he had to do was walk next door to respond. Fortunately, the family who lived in the house was ok, we aren't sure about the driver.
Needless to say, the news was all a buzz around the neighborhood. We had so many neighbors hanging out in our yard as the accident was responded to and reported on. The craziest part about it was watching the live news stories in our backyard and on TV at the same time. Here are a few pictures Aaron took and also a link to the news clip.
